SWITCHFOOT, BRITT NICOLE, NEWWORDLSON, AND SALVADOR ADDED TO THE LINE-UP FOR
SPIRIT FEST ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11 AT THE DELL DIAMOND

Austin, TX. SPIRIT 105.9 is pleased to announce the return of SPIRIT Fest taking place on Veteran’s Day – Sunday, November 11, 2012, at The Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.  Just added to an already spectacular line-up for Spirit Fest is Grammy Award and Dove Award winners Switchfoot.  Joining Switchfoot on the main stage will be Britt Nicole, Newworldson and Salvador for a show that already features Grammy-nominated and Dove Award winning artists MercyMe, Jeremy Camp and David Crowder. SPIRIT Fest 2012 will showcase both national and local bands for a full day of music on two stages with activities geared toward the whole family.  As Austin’s family friendly station, SPIRIT 105.9 is offering a day full of Fun, Family, Faith & Freedom.

Switchfoot is from San Diego, California. They first gained mainstream recognition with the inclusion of four of their songs in the 2002 movie, A Walk to Remember. This recognition led to their major label debut, The Beautiful Letdown, which was released in 2003. It went on to sell over 2.6 million copies.  They have since been noted for their energetic live shows, and their seventh studio album Hello Hurricane received a Grammy award in 2011 for Best Rock Gospel Album. They recently received Rock Album of the year “Vice Verses” & Rock Recorded Song of the year “Dark Horses”.

MercyMe is an American Christian rock band founded in Greenville, Texas. The group first gained mainstream recognition with the crossover single, "I Can Only Imagine" which elevated their debut album, Almost There, to double platinum certification.  Since then, the group has released six additional studio albums (four of which have been certified gold) and a greatest hits album. The group has also had 13 consecutive top 5 singles on the Billboard Christian Songs chart, with 7 of them reaching no. 1. MercyMe has won 8 Dove Awards and has had numerous Grammy Award nominations.

Jeremy Camp has sold three million records, charted nineteen No. 1 hits, was nominated for a GRAMMY, and has won several major Dove Awards. Not in any self-deprecating way, but in that positive spiritual sense to which we should all aspire. You can hear him working this out on his sixth recording, We Cry Out: The Worship Project.

David Crowder is a Texas original, 9-time Dove award winner and Grammy award nominee! David Crowder Band has always stood separate from that pack of modern worship groups due to its eclecticism. For over a decade, David Crowder created some of the most creatively inspired worship music in the world. “Give Us Rest” is the title of his latest album, earning them a number two spot on Billboard’s Top 200.

Salvador is native to Austin and has toured extensively since exploding onto the main stage in Christian music in 2000 with their unique blend of soulful music with a Latin influence, underscored by dynamic stage performances.

Britt Nicole A Native of Salisbury, NC, Britt has always had a heart for reaching people and has long used music as the vehicle to change lives.  By the time she was in high school, was appearing on her church’s daily television program and logged a performance at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall with her school’s advanced chorus. In 2009 her song “The Lost Get Found” debuted on the Top 20 Billboard Hot Christian Songs and peaked at No. 1 on Christian Radio. Gold is Britt Nicole’s third album released on March 26, 2012.
